An Evening at the Bigfork Summer Playhouse to watch Annie
The Bigfork Summer Playhouse is a local’s favorite night out in the summertime in Bigfork, Montana. Everyone gets dressed up and goes out for a night on the town. The plays are new each year, and offer anything from children’s plays to comedies to musicals. We are lucky to have such wonderful local talent!
I took my 3-year-old for a night out at the Playhouse on the opening night of the show, Annie. My daughter went through a phase awhile ago where all that she would watch for months was the movie, Annie. She has since moved onto only watching the show Wild Kratts- which demonstrates her true love for animals, but I still thought she would love to see Annie in real life. I also was excited to see it because I knew every single word to the movie!
Since having my baby girl, I never feel like I get enough one-on-one time with my oldest. So I was super excited to take her on a date! I took her to ice cream in downtown Bigfork beforehand, and then we walked down to the theater to meet a friend and her 3-year-old daughter. You might question how a 3-year-old does sitting still for that long to watch the theater. Fortunately, my daughter has a long attention span! The seats were hard for her to sit in, she doesn’t weigh enough, so they kept folding her up inside of them, so she spent most of the show sitting on my lap. She didn’t even ask if it was almost over until about ten minutes from the end! I am so proud of her. (They do ask that if you bring small children, and they want to complain about their “hard knock life,” that you do take them outside so as not to disturb anyone who wants to hear the play.) She slept the entire way home, and I would call it a successful date.
Annie was hilarious! A lot of the play was the same as the movie, which I enjoyed. The kids did a fantastic job acting. As did the adults. Miss Hannigan never ceases to amaze! For anyone who is interested, wine is sold in the lobby for your enjoyment.
All of the shows here I am sure are fantastic!! Every year they offer new plays and I am sure you cannot go wrong with anything you choose! They also offer a dinner (at a local restaurant) and two show ticket package, which offers a 20 percent discount. Contact them for more information on that.
If you plan on visiting the adorable town of Bigfork, Montana, and want to have a fun night out, be sure to visit the Bigfork Summer Playhouse! They do offer discounted rates for children’s tickets. I hope to see you there!
