Bowman Lake Photos, October 2015
Bowman Lake in Glacier National Park is always so enjoyable — a beautiful mountain lake that you can drive to. I try to make it up to Bowman Lake a few times each summer. We went up once earlier in the summer and had a great time kayaking, so with the nice weather forecast on the west side of the park and the high wind warning on the east side of the park, we decided it was a great day to return. Here are some of the pictures we took this trip.
I took advantage of the warm weather and low water (the water is always low in the fall) and walked out to the rocks.
Thanks to the Montana Scene for this cozy sweatshirt that I now wear all of the time!
Of course here you also need to take family photos:
I have not hiked to Quartz Lake yet, so I thought we would hike up the ridge and see if we could get any views of Bowman Lake from above. Hopefully someday I will make it all of the way to this chain of lakes, but this trip we were departing too late in the day to do the whole hike. We didn’t end up getting any views as the trees are so thick you cannot see the lake below. So if you are hiking this a little ways for the views — don’t. Ha!
Bowman Lake definitely has my heart! It was a beautiful fall day to spend as a family throwing rocks in the lake and soaking up the sun. I can’t recommend visiting this lake enough on your trip to Glacier National Park.
Warm Wishes from Big Sky Country,
