Campgrounds in Glacier National Park

There are 13 campgrounds in Glacier National Park, with over 1,000 campsites available.  There is so much to know about each campsite, I am working on writing about every single one of them individually.  Here is a breakdown of each campground, and the area of Glacier National Park it is in:

WEST SIDE OF GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, LAKE MCDONALD AREA:
1. Apgar Campground (Apgar accepts reservations for groups of 9 or more people.)
2. Avalanche Campground
3. Fish Creek Campground (Book a reservation here, up to 6 months in advance.)
4. Sprague Creek Campground

NORTH FORK AREA OF GLACIER NATIONAL PARK:
5. Bowman Lake Campground
6. Kintla Lake Campground
7. Logging Creek Campground
8. Quartz Creek Campground

EAST SIDE OF THE PARK NEAR ST. MARY:
9. St. Mary Campground (Book a reservation here.)
10. Rising Sun Campground

EAST SIDE OF THE PARK NEAR MANY GLACIER:
11. Many Glacier Campground

EAST SIDE OF THE PARK NEAR TWO MEDICINE AND EAST GLACIER:
12. Two Medicine Campground
13. Cut Bank Campground

Since the majority of campgrounds in Glacier National Park are only available on a first-come, first-serve basis, I recommend checking the Glacier National Park Campground Status (pictured below) page if you are traveling to get a campsite.  Also, the earlier you arrive the better to try to get a spot.  Most of the campgrounds fill nightly (all except for Logging Creek, Quartz Creek, and Cut Bank – and even those can fill nightly in July and August as well).
