Headframe Spirits, Butte, Montana
Headframe Spirits is a Montana distillery and tasting room in the heart of Butte that pays tribute to Butte’s mining heritage.
A headframe is the structural frame above an underground mine shaft. Headframes have cultural significance in Butte — with Butte’s mining history, headframes still stand scattered throughout the city, reminding us of the days when the mining operations brought the city of Butte to life.
As of the time of this writing, the distillery had five products that they make and sell: the Neversweat Bourbon Whiskey, the Destroying Angel Whiskey (with a sweet taste, some say this tastes like tequila), Anselmo Gin (full of delicious botanicals, including huckleberry and citrus), High Ore Vodka, and the Orphan Girl Bourbon Cream Liqueur. Each product is named after a mine that once operated in Butte. Their unique flavors make this distillery stand out.
Click here for information on getting a tour of the distillery. While they don’t serve food, they allow you to bring your own if you so wish.
Look for the “drink of the week” — they always have creative new concoctions to keep you coming back for more!
Stop in, enjoy a cocktail, and purchase a bottle to take home!
Warm Wishes from Big Sky Country,
