Montana is the "Land of the Shining Mountains"

Montana is sometimes referred to as the ‘Land of the Shining Mountains.’  I am not sure where this originated, but I find it to be true.Although it can happen anytime of the year, the pink glow seems most noticeable to me when the mountains are still capped with snow, making them particularly shiny. This was the sunset a few nights ago.  This does not even do it justice – the glow some evenings is much brighter than this.  I don’t know enough about science and the weather to tell you why – if you know or can add any information, please comment below.

Nonetheless, it is stunning.

Warmest Wishes from Big Sky Country,
