Montana, my love
Montana is my true love. Montana is the place I call home.
Montana is a place where life is based around simpler things. A place with enough space and something for everyone, from the Rocky Mountains to the rolling plains. A place where you can ride your horse to work, you can visit a national park year-round, and wildlife is your neighbor. A place where strangers will give you a minute of their time, no one cares what you wear, and a place to stand at the top of a mountain, appreciating what nature has to offer below you.
Montana is the place that I spent my childhood summers running barefoot through the sprinkler, swimming in turquoise lakes, and camping with the family. Where I spent the fall watching the leaves turn, winters with two boards strapped to my feet flying down a mountain, and splashing in puddles in the spring. Where I carried my pet baby goat around piggyback. A place that is safe for children to walk down the street to the neighbor’s house. A place to drive on a dirt road, country music blaring, with your dog in the rear view mirror.
Montana is a place that I have left many times, only to return for a breath of fresh air. My lifelong romance with this state is something that no one can take away, and what I hope to share with others as they plan a trip of a lifetime to Montana.
I think that John Steinbeck said it best, when he said:
I’m in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection. But with Montana it is love. And it’s difficult to analyze love when you’re in it.
I hope that Montana Vacation Blog will tell you everything that you need to know to enjoy the best vacation, in the last best place.
