Montana Whitewater: Your Adventure Company in Southwest Montana!

When planning a visit to the “Last Best Place,” there is certainly no shortage of activities or adventures to experience.  With over twenty years of operation, Montana Whitewater Rafting Company is excited to offer rafting, zip lining, fly-fishing, kayaking, tubing and horseback riding.  With three locations, we are close to the action in Yellowstone National Park, Big Sky, Bozeman and Gardiner and convenient for your vacation. Join us to create amazing memories with you, your friends and family!

We proudly run rafting trips on the Gallatin, Yellowstone and Madison rivers, which flow out of Yellowstone National Park.  They are among the most beautiful and pristine waters in the lower 48 states. With rigorous training, and unparalleled experience our guides will lead you through rushing rapids leaving no one high and dry.  We are truly passionate about what we do and believe that quality outdoor experiences lead to a greater sense of health and well-being.

The Gallatin River is a narrow, technical, canyon river located near both Bozeman and Big Sky.  Featured in the movie “A River Runs Through It,” the Gallatin offers everything from roaring class IV rapids in high water to relaxing flat water floats.  Enjoy a half day or full day trip and feel the flow with this swift and scenic river.

A family-owned company in its twentieth season, Montana Whitewater maintains the exclusive whitewater rafting outfitter rights to the Madison River.  We are excited to offer a full-day wilderness float through Bear Trap Canyon.  Unparalleled scenery, wildlife and the chance to scout and—for the daring, run the Kitchen Sink- the highest classed rapids in the area! This trip is an awesome option for those looking to raft away from crowds and experience an intimate look at Montana’s ecosystem.

As our newest adventure, Montana Whitewater introduces Madison River Tubing.  Join us for a worry-free unguided float down a mellow and scenic section of the Madison River in a tube! We will shuttle you from Bozeman or Four Corners and provide the tubes for a simplified, relaxing family adventure. You can even rent standup paddleboards, floating coolers and more to add to the fun!

No one should visit Montana and miss out on the fabulous blue-ribbon fishing our rivers have to offer!  At Montana Whitewater, we have packages for every level of experience. Whether you’ve never been on a river before or are tying your own flies, we’ve got you covered.  We provide all the gear you need, you bring a valid Montana fishing license. Our learn to fly-fish center is located right along the Gallatin River, where you’ll learn about river ecology, bug entomology, and how to cast.  After a few practice rounds hitting land targets, you’ll move down to the river to our private fishing spot and use your new skills to hopefully reel in a big one!

Relax under the Big Sky and push your limits with our Gallatin River ZipLine and Canopy tours.  Soar through the air surrounded by limestone cliffs, wildflower fields, and century old pine forests. Our adventure elements and sky bridges will test your balance and build your confidence.  With two lines crossing over the Gallatin River, you’ll see things from a whole new perspective.

Fully immerse yourself and your family into Montana Whitewater with our overnight rafting package.  We’ll handle everything and set you up in our riverside Yurt or Tipi for the night.  After a full day on the river we’ll grill up steaks or salmon and light up a campfire with s’mores.  The next morning, awake to the smells of bacon and float down through the canyon one last time.

For those looking for a tamer raft ride or if you are simply spending more time towards the North Entrance to the Park, the Yellowstone River, is a deep, wide river that runs through Paradise Valley.  Offering gorgeous vista scenery and big splashy rapids, our Gardiner location gives everyone from kindergarteners to senior citizens a chance to experience whitewater in Montana.

Out of our Gardiner office, you can also enjoy the Yellowstone Ranch ZipLine. These tours take you to the historic Stermitz Ranch, where you will fly down a mountain side, bordering Yellowstone Park. Gaze at the gorgeous pristine vistas, listen to the gurgling stream, and watch for wildlife on the unique Montana adventure. You can even opt for the Grande Tour, which has two 1200+ft zips that take you soaring 200ft in the air!

Put some use to all that cowboy apparel you’ve got accumulating in those souvenir bags and get on a horse! Montana Whitewater has trail ride options at both locations.  Follow switchbacks up the inspiring Hellroaring Creek trail with Broken Hart Ranch near Big Sky or meander through Paradise Valley with the Stermitz Family Ranch near Gardiner.  From beginners to experienced wranglers everyone will leave smiling (and maybe a little bow-legged!).

Give our friendly office staff a call at 1-800-799-4465 and let us plan your days for you!  You can create any combination of activities or packages to make your summer vacation an everlasting experience! Making reservations is recommended and often required during the busier weeks. We’re happy to accommodate special requests and will do our best to give you a taste of all Montana has to offer.  Visit Montana Whitewater’s website at http://www.montanawhitewater.com/ for more information!
