The Naked Noodle in Whitefish, Montana ~ Lunch with a view!

The Naked Noodle is a wonderful spot in Whitefish, Montana, for a quick, delicious lunch.

Matt and I (and our baby, of course!) went to the Naked Noodle recently for lunch.  Unbelievably, we had never been here before.  It is a place that we always drive by, but never think of, when we are deciding where to get lunch!  The cafe is located at 10 Baker Avenue in Whitefish, as you head north toward Whitefish Mountain Resort, it is on your left before you drive over the viaduct.

We decided to check it out.  We are the kind of people who take forever to order.  So we stood at the counter…and stood at the counter…and stood at the counter.  The menu seemed so daunting, there are three boards, and three prices on some of the menu items.  We finally asked the woman behind the counter what was good.  She was very friendly, and helpful, and is one of the reasons we will return. :)

She informed us that everything was good, and kindly explained to us that the first row was food without meat, the second row was with meat, and the third row was with seafood.  What?!  We were very confused.  By “row,” we were thinking she meant each board.  What she meant was each row of “prices” varies depending on what you want in it.  (Add $2.00 for meat, and add $4.00 for seafood.)

Matt (more food adventurous than I), told her to get him whatever she thought was good.  I chose the Pad Thai, and added chicken.  Matt ended up getting the Gaucho with chicken, per her surprise.  Both meals were very good! (Again, I am not a food critic, and I am not a picky eater, but I know what I like!)

I could eat the Pad Thai for lunch every day.  The flavors were delicious, and not too spicy!   It was just right.  (I don’t care for really spicy food.)

One of the best things about the Naked Noodle is the VIEW!! It seems to me that most restaurants in Whitefish do not have much of a view!  The restaurants in Whitefish tend to face east or west, and have restaurants on either side, so that you are not able to see Whitefish Mountain Resort!  The Naked Noodle is in a wonderful spot, with lots of large, bright windows, and you will have a perfect view of Whitefish Mountain Resort while you are eating.

What I really love about their menu is the “worldly” feel to it: from the Tokyo Bowl to the Singapore Stinger, to the Korean Style Beef Salad, their flavorful selection is something that is hard to come by anywhere near Whitefish, Montana.  A full list of their menu items can be seen here: The Naked Noodle Menu.

I also love the artwork displayed throughout the building.

It is rare for me to find places that I will “frequent,” as we constantly like to try new things, but I will be returning soon to the Naked Noodle!!

Warmest Wishes from Big Sky Country,

Alex Neill
